Azerbaijan is set to simplify entry for international visitors attending the 2025 Formula 1 Grand Prix in Baku with a temporary visa-on-arrival scheme. From August 25 to September 30, 2025, travelers with an official race ticket, FIA accreditation, or valid documentation from the Baku City Circuit can obtain a visa upon arrival at Azerbaijan's airports. This initiative eliminates the need for advance visa applications or embassy visits.

The program aims to facilitate easier access for fans, media, and race personnel attending the Grand Prix, scheduled for September 19-21, 2025. Officials expect the event to attract significant global interest and a large influx of visitors, enhancing the international profile of Azerbaijan.

This move is part of Azerbaijan’s broader efforts to position itself as a leading host for international sporting events while boosting its tourism sector. The government sees this as an opportunity to showcase Azerbaijan's hospitality and cultural offerings to a global audience.

Experts believe that such measures can significantly impact the local economy by increasing tourism-related revenue. "Streamlining the visa process can help Azerbaijan attract more visitors, which in turn supports local businesses and the tourism industry," said a local economic analyst.

With the simplified visa process, Azerbaijan hopes to ensure a smooth experience for all attendees, reinforcing its commitment to being a welcoming and accessible destination for international events.
